Hairdresser Assistant

Duties
• Assist senior stylists with hair styling, including blowouts, trims, and special treatments such as hair extensions and eyelash extensions
• Prepare clients by performing consultations on hair color theory, hair threading, and makeup application to ensure their desired look is achieved
• Maintain salon sanitation standards by cleaning tools, stations, and ensuring proper sterilization of equipment like straight razors and manicure tools
• Support front desk operations by managing appointments using salon software such as MINDBODY, checking clients in/out, and handling retail sales with upselling techniques
• Assist with retail product displays and inventory management, including retail math calculations to optimize sales opportunities
• Help with store management tasks such as organizing supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and mentoring new team members
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with clients professionally, addressing inquiries about hair care services or retail products, and ensuring a positive salon experience

Skills
• Proficiency in hair styling techniques including coloring, cutting, and finishing touches like nail care or makeup application
• Knowledge of salon software systems such as MINDBODY for scheduling and client management
• Familiarity with hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and barbering techniques including straight razor shaves
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
• Ability to perform sanitation procedures diligently to uphold health standards in the salon environment
• Experience or interest in retail sales strategies and upselling premium products to enhance client satisfaction
• Basic understanding of store management principles and retail math for inventory control and sales optimization
• Competence in providing personalized consultations on color theory or hair treatments to meet client expectations
• Willingness to learn new skills such as hair threading or advanced styling techniques under mentorship
