The Role
Description
Position Purpose
The Aesthetician plays a key role in providing advanced skin care treatments under the direct supervision of the Medical Director. This position requires expertise in operating medical-grade lasers, administering aesthetic procedures, maintaining precise patient records, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory guidelines. The Aesthetician is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, educating clients on skincare protocols, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and hygiene in a medical spa or clinical setting.

Clinical Aesthetic Treatments & Patient Care
• Conduct professional skin assessments and develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and medical recommendations.
• Perform a variety of medical aesthetic treatments, including but not limited to:
• Laser treatments (hair removal, skin care)
• Chemical peels (light to medium depth, based on skin type and concerns)
• Microneedling (for collagen induction and skin rejuvenation)
• Facials and medical-grade skincare treatments (hydrafacials, dermaplaning, extractions)
• Radiofrequency microneedling (for skin tightening and contouring)
• Ensure all procedures are carried out safely, effectively, and with the highest patient comfort in mind.
Laser & Equipment Operation
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laser and energy-based devices, following manufacturer guidelines and clinic protocols.
• Maintain strict adherence to laser safety protocols, including the use of protective eyewear for both patients and staff.
Patient Education & Communication
• Provide thorough pre- and post-treatment instructions to ensure optimal results and minimize complications.
• Educate patients on proper skincare routines and recommend medical-grade products tailored to their skin concerns.
• Address patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy, ensuring a positive experience and high patient satisfaction.
Charting & Documentation

Qualifications
Education: Licensed Esthetician with additional certification in medical aesthetics, laser treatments, and other advanced procedures.
Experience: Minimum 1-3 years in medical spa, dermatology clinic or plastic surgery practice preferred.
Other Requirements:
Excellent charting skills
Ability to follow strict treatment protocols and safety guidelines
Ability to educate and upsell appropriate treatments and products while maintaining ethical standards
Equipment Operated: This role will work with clinical supplies such as masks, gloves, lasers, and needles.
Work Environment: This role operates in a professional, clinical office environment.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
